Albert Heijn tastes the Chinese market by opening a Tmall Global flagship store.

Shortly after the launch of Tmall Global Ahold got attracted by the Chinese cross-border E-commerce market. Their interest was twofold; they were curious to the commercial opportunity of selling Albert Heijn products in China, and they were eager to learn more about – globally leading – E-commerce in China. Valuable knowledge for their own e-commerce operations in the Netherlands ( and the US (Peapod).

Tmall Global Flagship Store

NextportChina* was hired to lead the internal team that was tasked with the Tmall Global setup and ongoing operations. The activities included ao Tmall Partner (TP) selection, contract negotiations, assortment selection, TP management, daily operations, PR, stakeholder management.
