Albert Heijn tastes the Chinese market by opening a Tmall Global flagship store.
Shortly after the launch of Tmall Global Ahold got attracted by the Chinese cross-border E-commerce market. Their interest was twofold; they were curious to the commercial opportunity of selling Albert Heijn products in China, and they were eager to learn more about – globally leading – E-commerce in China. Valuable knowledge for their own e-commerce operations in the Netherlands (bol.com) and the US (Peapod).
